Clean up work at the Catalyst Trade Park has been completed. The 13-month project to clean up the contaminated land at the site is part of the advance works programme of the Mersey Gateway Project.
Mersey Gateway team welcomes infrastructure projects announcement
The team behind the Mersey Gateway Project has welcomed the Chief Secretary to the Treasury’s confirmation today that the project will qualify for government funding under the UK Guarantee Scheme.
Danny Alexander MP this morning highlighted Mersey Gateway as one of the key projects in line to benefit from the scheme.
Merseylink invites residents to find out more about the Bridge project
Residents from Halton are invited to find out more about the Merseylink plans for the new Mersey Gateway Bridge at two events in the borough.
The events are being hosted by Merseylink, the consortium which was named last week as the preferred bidder for the long awaited £600 million project.
Merseylink announced as Mersey Gateway Project preferred bidder
Merseylink has today (20 June) been announced as the preferred bidder for the Mersey Gateway Project by Halton Borough Council.
Making the announcement together in the observatory in the Catalyst Museum in Widnes overlooking the River Mersey, the council and Merseylink also confirmed they have jointly identified savings amounting to ‘tens of millions of pounds’ on the projected public sector contribution to the £2 billion project budget. Pupils’ success in ‘Bridging the gap’ secures £2,000 of LEGO education kits
The Mersey Gateway Project has provided the inspiration for schoolgirls in Wirral to win over £2,000 of LEGO Education Robotics kits for their school after they won an engineering competition based on the project.
