Mersey Gateway team welcomes infrastructure projects announcement

The team behind the Mersey Gateway Project has welcomed the Chief Secretary to the Treasury’s confirmation today that the project will qualify for government funding under the UK Guarantee Scheme.

Danny Alexander MP this morning highlighted Mersey Gateway as one of the key projects in line to benefit from the scheme.

Merseylink announced as Mersey Gateway Project preferred bidder

Merseylink has today (20 June) been announced as the preferred bidder for the Mersey Gateway Project by Halton Borough Council.

Making the announcement together in the observatory in the Catalyst Museum in Widnes overlooking the River Mersey, the council and Merseylink also confirmed they have jointly identified savings amounting to ‘tens of millions of pounds’ on the projected public sector contribution to the £2 billion project budget.
