Mersey Gateway team strengthened
The Mersey Gateway Crossings Board has strengthened its professional team to support the construction phase of the iconic £1.86bn Mersey Gateway Bridge project.
Paul Fenwick has joined the team as Construction Director and Helen Dearden as Finance Director bringing extensive experience in their respective fields, together with other appointments which will significantly add to the current expertise in the team.
While stepping down as Interim Chief Executive of the Board on 31 October, the project will retain the expertise of Steve Nicholson who led the Project team through the planning and procurement phases to the appointment of Project Company and start of construction. Steve will take up a new role as Special Advisor to the Project on a part time basis.
Mersey Gateway gets interactive
New interactive features on the Mersey Gateway website are enabling Halton residents and commuters to keep-up-to-date with the construction of the Mersey Gateway Bridge at the click of a button.
The new features include:
- ‘Down Your Street’, a series of interactive maps that show the latest information about works likely to impact local residents, businesses and commuters; and
- a live image gallery, where photographs of the bridge construction are streamed directly from a time-lapse camera installed on site.
Site tour for Mersey Gateway volunteers
Volunteers who will be helping the Mersey Gateway project toured a variety of locations on the site recently.
This involved dropping into the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre, travelling to the observatory, and heading down to the river bank to see the construction work currently taking place to build the trestle bridge.
