Halton Borough Council has announced that it needs to carry out urgent repairs to Station Road bridge in Runcorn.

In order to carry out the work it will be closing the Expressway beneath the bridge for an estimated 10 weeks.

A562 Speke Road to Ditton Roundabout offslip to close for four months

Drivers travelling from Liverpool to Widnes will need to use a new diversion that starts next week to avoid an unnecessary two-way trip over the Silver Jubilee Bridge.

The southbound off-slip road from Speke Road to Ditton Roundabout will be closed for approximately four months from Monday 27 April 2015.

The closure will follow the reopening of the Speke Road on slip road, which has now been fully refurbished.
