Mersey Gateway team welcomes public inquiry announcement
The team leading the project to build a new bridge over the River Mersey has welcomed today’s (Tuesday 30 September) announcement from the Department for Transport that there will be a public inquiry into the plans.

The Mersey Gateway project was in the spotlight last night (Monday 14 July) as Warrington Borough Council’s council’s Executive Board put forward their views about the proposals.
Full Mersey Gateway plans submitted
Full details for the Mersey Gateway Project have been submitted to the Department for Transport.
The proposals, contained in a set of legal orders, confirm that the project is on track to deliver its main aim – an iconic new bridge with toll levels similar to Mersey Tunnel tolls.

The first phase of formal applications for the Mersey Gateway Project is to be submitted today.
The Mersey Gateway Project is submitting two planning applications outlining major alterations to the road network in Runcorn and Widnes and an application for listed building consent to change the traffic flow and road layout on the Silver Jubilee Bridge once the Mersey Gateway bridge has been built.
