Mersey Gateway roadworks update – 5 October 2015
Essential work on the Mersey Gateway Project means the following new road, lane and footpath closures will be in place over the coming days and weeks.

| 12/10/15 – mid November | M56 Junction 12 eastbound exit slip road | There will be a total closure of the eastbound exit slip road at junction 12 of the M56 from Monday 12 October for around five weeks. There will be a diversion route in place via junction 11 of the M56. |
| 12/10/15 – mid November | M56 Junction 12 eastbound access slip road | One lane of the M56 Junction 12 eastbound access slip road will be closed off peak, between 9.30am and 3.30pm for about five weeks. |
| 14/10/15 – for one day | Central Expressway southbound exit slip to Halton Lea | There will be a closure of a section of the southbound exit slip road to Halton Lea Roundabout off-peak, between 9.30am and 3.30pm. A diversion will be in place. |
| 17/10/15 – 19/10/15 | A557 southbound between M56 Junction 12 Roundabout and Clifton Roundabout | There will be a total closure of the A557 southbound, between the M56 Junction 12 Roundabout and Clifton Roundabout, between midnight on the Friday night and 5am on the Monday morning, 17 to 19 October. A diversion will be in place. |
| 23/10/15 – 26/10/15 | A557 southbound, between M56 Junction 12 Roundabout and Clifton Roundabout | There will be a total closure of the A557 southbound between the M56 Junction 12 Roundabout and Clifton Roundabout, from 7.30pm on Friday, October 23 and 5am on Monday, October 26. A diversion will be in place. |
| 23/10/15 – 26/10/15 | A557 northbound, between Clifton Roundabout and the M56 Junction 12 Roundabout | One lane will be closed northbound between Clifton Roundabout and the M56 Junction 12 Roundabout, from 7.30pm on Friday, October 23 and 5am on Monday, October 26. |
