Mersey Gateway roadworks and footpath closures update – 9 November 2015
Essential work on the Mersey Gateway Project means the following new road, lane and footpath closures will be in place over the coming days and weeks.

| 09/11/15 – 11/11/15 | Desoto Road northbound exit slip, Widnes | Overnight (7pm – 5am) closures of Desoto Road northbound exit slip road. A via Ditton Roundabout will be in place. |
| 11/11/15 – approx. one week | Brook Place South Footbridge, Runcorn | Closure of Brook Place South Footbridge (known locally as the ‘curly’ bridge). A diversion via Halton North Footbridge will be in place. |
| 11/11/15 – 15/11/15 | Moor Lane, Widnes | One lane will be closed on Moor Lane westbound from Ashley Way to Ditton Roundabout |
| 13/11/15 – 16/11/15 | Ditton Roundabout, Widnes | There will be a total closure of Ditton Roundabout between Queensway southbound access road and Ditton Road eastbound access. This will include the total closure of Queensway northbound exit slip to Ditton Roundabout and Desoto Road exit and access slip roads from 7pm Friday to 5am Monday. Diversion routes to allow access to Speke, Widnes and the Multimodal Gateway will be in operation. |
| 13/11/15 – 16/11/15 | A557 southbound, between M56 Junction 12 Roundabout and Clifton Roundabout, Runcorn | There will be a total closure of the A557 southbound between the M56 Junction 12 Roundabout and Clifton Roundabout, from 7.30pm on Friday, 13 November and 5am on Monday, 16 November. There will also be a lane closure on the opposite northbound carriageway. A diversion will be in place. |
| 18/11/15 – approx. six months | Daresbury Expressway, Runcorn | There will be a total closure of the westbound Daresbury Expressway at the Bridgewater Interchange. A local diversion will be in place via the off and on slip roads at Bridgewater Interchange. |
| 20/11/15 – 23/11/15 | M56 Junction 12 roundabout, Runcorn | The junction 12 roundabout and all approaches to it will be down to one lane from 7.30pm on Friday 20 November to 5am on Monday 23 November. |
| 20/11/15 – 23/11/15 | Ditton Roundabout, Widnes | A section of Ditton Roundabout adjacent to Moor Lane will be closed over the weekend from 7pm Friday evening to 5am Monday morning. A diversion via Moor Lane and Kingsway roundabout will be in place. |
| 30/11/15 – 22/12/15 | A562 Speke Road, Widnes | Offpeak (9.30am – 3.30pm) lane closures on Speke Road eastbound (towards Widnes) between Everite Road and Ditton Junction |
