Mersey Gateway roadworks and footpath closures update – 29 June
Essential work on the Mersey Gateway Project means the following new road, lane and footpath closures will be in place over the coming days and weeks.

| 29/6/15 – for 12 months | A557 Weston Point Expressway slip road to Weston Link eastbound | Total closure of slip road from Weston Point Expressway northbound (from M56 Junction 12) to Weston Link eastbound (towards Central Expressway). A local diversion will be in place. |
| 6/7/15 – 9/7/15 | Busway route from Chadwick Road to Davy Road on Astmoor Industrial Estate | Night-time closure (8pm to 4am) of busway route from Chadwick Road to Davy Road on Astmoor Industrial Estate in Runcorn. Road closed due to construction activity in the area. |
| 6/7/15 – 17/7/15 | Brook Place South Footbridge over Central Expressway (known locally as ‘The Curly Bridge’) | Total closure of Brook Street South Footbridge from Halton Brook Avenue to The Calvers for routine repairs. A diversion route via Halton North Footbridge will be in place. |
| 20/7/15 – mid August | Halton North Footbridge over Central Expressway | Total closure of Halton North Footbridge from Halton Brook Avenue to The Calvers for routine repairs. A diversion route via Brook Place South Footbridge will be in place. |
| 15/6/15 – 24/7/15 | A557 Weston Point Expressway | Lane 1 closure from footbridge on Weston Point Expressway southbound to M56 Junction 12 roundabout. Also includes lane 1 on roundabout, between roundabouts and M56 eastbound exit slip road. Offpeak only (9.30am – 3.30pm weekdays and 7pm Friday – 5pm Sunday). Traffic approaching this junction from the Silver Jubilee Bridge towards the M56 may experience delays during the daytime. We would encourage drivers to either use an alternative route or to allow additional time to get through these roadworks. |
