Mersey Gateway roadworks and footpath closures update – 6 July 2015

Essential work on the Mersey Gateway Project means the following new road, lane and footpath closures will be in place over the coming days and weeks.

Date of closure Road / footpath Details
06/07/15 – 17/07/15 Ditton Roundabout The outside lane of the roundabout will be closed at night time (between 7pm and 5am) for resurfacing works
11/07/15 – 12/07/15 A533 Central Expressway There will be a total closure of southbound Central Expressway over the top of Halton Brow to build a service trench for the entire weekend. Traffic will be diverted via the slip roads.
17/07/15 – 20/07/15 A562 Speke Road There will be a total closure of the southbound A562 (Speke Road) from after 7pm on the evening of Friday 17 July to 5am on Monday 20 July for essential construction activity. A local diversion via Ditton Road will be in place.
18/0715 – 19/07/15 A533 Central Expressway There will be a total closure of the northbound exit slip road from the Central Expressway to Boston Avenue for the entire weekend. The closure is needed to build a service trench. Traffic will be diverted via the Bridgewater, Daresbury and Central Expressways. Follow diversion signs marked with a solid circle symbol.
6/7/15 – 17/7/15 Brook Place South Footbridge over Central Expressway (known locally as ‘The Curly Bridge’) There will be a total closure of Brook Street South Footbridge from Halton Brook Avenue to The Calvers for routine repairs. A diversion route via Halton North Footbridge will be in place.
20/7/15 – mid August Halton North Footbridge over Central Expressway There will be a total closure of Halton North Footbridge from Halton Brook Avenue to The Calvers for routine repairs. A diversion route via Brook Place South Footbridge will be in place.
