Delays expected as Expressway traffic to be diverted on to Astmoor Industrial Estate

A major Expressway route through Runcorn will close for 18 months from the early hours of Monday 30 March 2015.

Drivers using the Bridgewater, Daresbury and Central Expressways near Astmoor Industrial Estate in Runcorn are being warned to prepare for significant disruption as major work starts and diversions and lane closures come into operation.

Apprentices hired to work on Mersey Gateway Project

Merseylink has hired six apprentices to work on the iconic Mersey Gateway Project.

The new recruits have all secured paid apprenticeships with the construction consortium, which is building Halton’s new cable-stayed bridge and the associated 9.2km road network.

Mersey Gateway unique financing deal scoops two top European infrastructure awards

The deal to finance the £1.86bn Mersey Gateway Project that saw Halton Borough Council appoint the Merseylink consortium as the project company has picked up two prestigious international awards.

The deal has been named as Europe’s Infrastructure Deal of the Year at the Project Finance International Awards and IJ Global’s European Road Deal of the Year 2014.
