Local rowing club receives expert help from Merseylink to upgrade clubhouse
A local rowing club has been able to replace its old clubhouse with a brand new building thanks to expert help from bridge builder Merseylink.
Runcorn Rowing Club had received a Sports Council grant to cover the cost of a new building, but the project was in danger of never getting off the ground as a large amount of costly building work was also needed to get it started.

As a voluntary organisation with limited funds and expertise, the rowing club decided to apply to the Merseylink Time Bank scheme for help. Read more →
‘Ditton Flyover’ in Widnes will close on the evening of Easter Monday
The closure date for ‘Ditton Flyover’ has been confirmed as 7.30pm on the evening of Easter Monday (28 March 2016).
The section of the A533 Queensway in Widnes (known locally as the Ditton Flyover), which links Speke Road to the Silver Jubilee Bridge, will be permanently closed.
Motorists travelling through Widnes are being warned to expect delays as a result of the closure, which is needed to build the link roads through Widnes to connect the main road network to the new Mersey Gateway bridge, which will open in autumn 2017. Read more →

Schoolchildren open new Mersey Gateway information centre in Runcorn
Bridge builder Merseylink has opened a new Mersey Gateway information centre in Runcorn – with a little help from local schoolchildren.

The new centre is based at the main square (78 Town Square) in Runcorn Shopping Centre. It is free to attend and is open from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Read more →
