Mersey Gateway roadworks update – 4 April 2016
Essential work on the Mersey Gateway Project means the following new road, lane and footpath closures will be in place over the coming days and weeks.

| 8/4/16 – 11/4/16 | Ditton Roundabout, Widnes | Weekend closure (7.30pm Friday to 5am Monday) of the north side of Ditton Roundabout between the Speke Road northbound access slip and southbound exit slip. A diversion will be in place. |
| 8/4/16 – 11/4/16 | A557 at M56 Junction 12, Runcorn | Weekend closure (7.30pm Friday – 5am Monday) of the northbound A557 (towards Runcorn) between Clifton roundabout and M56 Junction 12 roundabout. A diversion will be in place. |

| From 11/4/16 | Weston Link to Central Expressway, Runcorn | The access slip from Weston Link eastbound to the Central Expressway northbound will be reopened. Traffic using this route will be required to exit the Central Expressway at the Halton Lea junction until further notice. |
| From 11/4/16 | Weston Link to Southern Expressway, Runcorn | Permanent total closure of the loop slip from Weston Link eastbound to the Southern Expressway. A diversion will be in place until the Central Expressway reopens in summer 2016. The permanent alternative route will take traffic north on the Central Expressway, u-turning at the Halton Lea junction and then continuing south on to the Southern Expressway. |
| From 11/4/16 | Halton South Footbridge, Runcorn | Halton South Footbridge (known locally as the Asda footbridge) will reopen. |
| 11/4/16 – 22/4/16 | A557 Watkinson Way, Widnes | Offpeak (9.30am – 3.30pm) lane closures in both directions on Watkinson Way between the rail bridge and Queensway. |
| 15/4/16 – 18/4/16 | M56 Junction 12 roundabout, Runcorn | Weekend closure (7.30pm Friday – 5am Monday) of the north and south quadrants of the M56 Junction 12 roundabout. Signed diversions will be in place. |
| 22/4/16 – 25/4/16 | M56 Junction 12 and M56 Junction 12 roundabout, Runcorn | Weekend closure (7.30pm Friday – 5am Monday) of the M56 Junction 12 eastbound (towards Manchester) exit and access slips and the east side of the M56 Junction 12 roundabout. Signed diversions will be in place. |
| 29/4/16 – 2/5/16 | M56 Junction 12 roundabout, Runcorn | Weekend closure (7.30pm Friday – 5am Monday) of the west side of the M56 Junction 12 roundabout. Signed diversions will be in place. |
