David Parr steps down from the Mersey Gateway Crossings Board following the successful delivery and opening of the Mersey Gateway

Following the opening of Mersey Gateway Bridge David Parr will be returning to his full time role as Chief Executive of Halton Council.

Mr Parr has led the Mersey Gateway Project for the last 13 years through the development, procurement and construction phases, to its successful opening on 14th October.

Mersey Gateway Opening Celebration

Halton Borough Council, Mersey Gateway Crossings Board and Merseylink can confirm that a spectacular light and fireworks display will happen at 8.30pm on Friday 13 October, to signal the countdown to the opening of the Mersey Gateway Bridge.

The announcement follows the news that the Mersey Gateway Bridge will open to vehicles at just after midnight on the morning of Saturday 14 October.
